AWS Nationwide take part in Earth Day’s Global Clean-up

It is Earth Day, and what an important year it is for us to ensure we don’t lose sight of the importance of action when it comes to climate change. In our business we support our customers with waste and hire services – and part of our service involves us working in the background to ensure we are thinking about how our services can support environmental protection, even if it’s not the primary priority for our customers. Examples include exploring waste recycling or finding local providers that reduce driving miles and carbon footprint.

We are passionate about delivering great service and we understand that for our business to be sustainable we need to invest in our planet. This is the theme of Earth Day this year so some of the team in the office popped out to a nearby park to do a litter pick.

For some of our remote workers they didn’t miss out either – they helped clean up their local areas by doing individual litter picks. As a business we offer all our staff one day a year to do volunteering, and what better way to spend a couple of hours than litter picking on the sunny south coast.

We collected 4 bags containing plastic and glass bottles, aluminium cans, food wrappers, paper, receipts and carpark tickets along with some more unusual items including a golf ball and a pair of pants!

Earth Day 2022 is focused on accelerating solutions to combat climate change, and to activate everyone – governments, citizens, and businesses – to do their part. Everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable.
