AWS Nationwide raise over £700 for children’s cancer and haematology ward
On Tuesday 18th April, AWS Nationwide hosted its first fundraiser of the year for newly appointed charity partner, Southampton Hospitals Charity – Piam Brown Ward fund.
The team brought in baked goods to sell and ran a raffle to raise additional money. The raffle couldn’t have been made possible without the kind and generous support of our suppliers. We would like to thank them for their contributions:
- Pips Skips, Hippo Waste and Willbox chocolate hampers
- Star platforms £200 All4One vouchers
- Mobile Mini and Speedy £50 Amazon vouchers
- Storage On Site microwave
- Hire Station round of golf at the Belfry for four
- Westminster Waste and Willbox Just giving donations
The day’s efforts resulted in us raising a whopping £720 for Southampton Hospitals Charity – Piam Brown Ward fund!
Paul Smith, AWS Nationwide Managing Director said: “I am so proud of how the team joined in and donated generously towards this worthwhile charity. Our business has a great family feel about it and knowing that together we can help local families in need is extremely rewarding.”
“We’re absolutely delighted to be the chosen Charity Partner for AWS Nationwide for 2023. Thank you for working with us to raise vital life-changing funds for University Hospital Southampton – in particular the Piam Brown Ward Fund. We couldn’t do what we do to enhance the care and treatment of young patients and their families without the support of local businesses like yours. Thank you!” Vicky O’Flaherty, Corporate Partnerships Officer, Southampton Hospitals Charity said.
Piam Brown Ward is the Wessex children’s cancer unit, caring for children from birth to 16 years old with all forms of cancer. The charity fund is part of Southampton Hospital Charity and all donations to the ward are kept in a ring-fenced fund to benefit the children in our care and their families.
